Martin Kunc, Founder, Coach & Master Instructor
Martin has been teaching the art of Ballroom, Latin and Social Dance throughout the Delaware Valley for over 30 years. He began studying International-Style Ballroom and Latin dancing at age 14 at the Savarin School of Dance in Prague, CZ. By age 17, Martin had traveled throughout his home country of Czechoslovakia, winning numerous Ballroom, Latin and Disco dance competitions, and became a 10-time International Ballroom Dance Champion in Europe. In 1983, he relocated to the United States and began teaching and coaching dance in the Philadelphia area. Prior to opening Blue Moon Dancesport, Martin owned studios in Kimberton and Phoenixville. A talented choreographer, dancer and teacher, Martin works with all levels of dancers, from beginner to competitor.
Rosemarie, Coach & Instructor
Rosemarie has been involved in teaching dance for over 20 years, and has taught both children and adults of all ages and levels. She is a certified instructor and prestigious member of Dance Masters of America, and has also served on the Board of Directors with the Pennsylvania Association of Dance Teachers. Rosemarie has taught various master level classes throughout the tri-state area, as well as performed in many dance productions, competitions, TV infomercials and charity events. She is coach of the BMD Dazzlers dance performance team with her choreography receiving awards and top honors in notable Regional and National dance competitions.
Clyde Evans, Jr., Coach & Instructor
Originally from Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, Clyde is a world-renowned instructor, choreographer, and dancer of Break Dance and Hip Hop. He has appeared in movies and videos with renowned celebrities including Robert Redford, Jill Scott, Bruce Willis, Will Smith, Brad Pitt and M. Night Shyamalan, and has even performed for Michael Jackson. Clyde has been a featured dancer at events such as the ESPN X-Games, in NFL Super Bowl commercials, 106 & Park for BET, and on the popular kid’s TV program, Dance Party USA. With his coaching and choreography, several of Clyde’s students have go on to compete on the hit TV series of ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ Clyde is excited to be teaching with us again, as well as coaching our B-Boyz Break Dance Team.
Erica Glista, Instructor
Erica began dancing at 11 years old and has trained in the styles of Hip Hop, Step, Acro/Tumbling and Break Dance. She started in dance after being inspired by the Hip Hop choreography danced by the pop superstars of the early 2000’s. During her school years, Erica was a member and team captain of a Step and Hip Hop team, as well as performed in numerous Hip Hop and Break Dance competitions throughout the state. She has won numerous awards for her dance choreopgrahy and has been featured in music videos and as an opening number for bands in the Pittsburgh area. She has recently moved to the area and has a great school year planned for her students.
Jillian Ikeler, Instructor
Dancing since the age of three years old, Jillian Ikeler has fallen in love with the art form. She had decided quite early that she wanted to make it her professional career, and share her passion with others through instructing. She received her B.A. in dance, and has studied with famous instructors such as Trinette Singleton, Timothy Cowart, and Angela Sigley. Jillian is very well versed in tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, acro, and pointe. College immersed her in many other subjects and styles such as capoeira, the works of Michio Ito, dance instruction and dance history. Since the age of sixteen she has instructed adolescents ranging from 3-18. Being a role model and knowledgeable dance instructor is her passion.
Lauren Corba, Instructor
Lauren began dancing at the age of 3. She has a vast background in multiple styles of dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, tap and pointe. As a child, she danced at the Dance School in West Chester and performed in several ballets including the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. In her later years she danced at Crane Preforming Arts in West Chester. Currently she is a member of the BMC Adult Dance Team and enjoys taking multiples dances classes each week. She loves teaching barre because it encompasses several styles of dance including ballet, jazz and lyrical as well strength training and flexibility. She motivates her students to achieve their goals and loves watching them improve week after week.
Mimi has been immersed in dance since a very young age. Her love of dance includes Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop Cardio, Hip-Hop, Street Funk and dance fitness. She has performed and choreographed several featured shows from coast to coast.She believes integrating the energy of dance with fitness helps elevate your attitude, gives a better understanding of technique while still having fun! She is an energetic addition to our staff straight from the west coast.
Naga has been bellydancing for over a decade. Her background includes classic Egyptian cabaret, Spanish/Arab, American Tribal, and traditional Turkish styles. Her dances often pull from each of these styles in a unique fusion. She has performed at haflas and bellydance celebrations in the tri-state area, including the Everett Theatre and West Chester’s own May Day Festival. Naga looks forward to sharing the fun of bellydance with her students.
Olivia Goodwin, Instructor
Olivia received her B.A in Theatre and Dance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Olivia choreographed numerous dance projects, musicals, and collaborated with many talented artists during her undergraduate career with University Theatre and University Dance Company. She received a Certificate of Merit from the Kennedy Center of Performing Arts, ACTF Region Two for her assistant choreography during “She Loves Me” Fall 2012 at West Chester University. Olivia has been a character and parade performer at Sesame Place for their holiday seasons. Performing across Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Atlantic City, Olivia is a company member of the Andrea Mychaels Dance Project, a modern-jazz based dance company. She has been teaching throughout Delaware and Chester Counties for over five years – incorporating story telling, improvisation, and yoga. Olivia believes that the arts are a vital part of education for all ages.
