We realize the importance of having everything about your wedding as close to perfect as possible. Since dancing is frequently an important part of the day, we think you’d like to give it the attention it deserves. Whether you want your first dance to that special song to be truly memorable, or you just want to be comfortable dancing with each other at the wedding, our experienced instructors can help. We pride ourselves on providing our students with the very best in service and instruction. We have been teaching couples to dance at their wedding for over twenty years.
The following are some
frequently asked questions that might address some of your own
concerns.

Our Wedding is a year away. Is it too early to start taking dance lessons? |

|
With the many
preparations involved in wedding celebrations, we suggest you
begin as soon as possible. Whether you choose group lessons,
private instruction, or a combination of both, getting an early
start allows you to pace yourselves comfortably and have some
time for a little practice between lessons. As the wedding
day
approaches, we suggest the Wedding Package, which consists of a
block of discounted private lessons. With some basics already in
place, couples can then specifically prepare for their first
dance together using the music they’ve chosen for their special
song and the guidance and suggestions of an experienced
instructor. With a generous amount of preparation, many couples
are eager to get out on the dance floor and strut their stuff!
We’re
getting married next month, and we both have very busy
schedules. How much time should we devote to dance lessons?
While it is
advisable to start early, we often give a “crash course” to
couples with only a short time before the big day.
A few private lessons with one of our knowledgeable and friendly
instructors, along with a bit of practice, can make a big
difference!
We’ve
chosen the song for our “first dance,” but don’t want to sway
back and forth in a “bear hug” while our guests look on. Can an
instructor teach us to dance to it?
Absolutely! When
you call us to arrange for your first lesson, mention the song
you’ve chosen, and the instructor will tailor SIMPLE steps that
will suit both your song and your personalities in order to make
your first dance together very special. You’ll impress your
guests, love watching the “first dance” portion of your video,
and, more importantly, you’ll be confident on the dance floor!
We
prefer not to have our dance choreographed, but we do want to be
able to dance together at our wedding. How do we go about this?
You can accomplish
this in several ways. Group classes meet once a week, are a fun and economical way
to learn and meet other people. Private lessons, which can be
arranged at your convenience, allow you and your fiancé to
progress at your own pace, and, we offer discounted Wedding
Packages! Whether you decide on group classes or private
instruction, if your goal is to look and feel good on the dance
floor, we can help you do it!
We
haven’t chosen a wedding song yet. Can our dance instructor help
us with this?
Yes! Frequently
couples look for some guidance when it comes to choosing a
wedding song, and our highly knowledgeable instructors are quite
willing to make some wonderful suggestions, while taking your
personal style into consideration. While we can teach a couple
to dance to any song of their choice, experience has taught us
that certain music is more conducive to making a bride and groom
look smooth and graceful on the dance floor.
Members
of the bridal party and others have expressed an interest in
taking dance lessons together before the wedding. Can this be
arranged?
Definitely! Let us know the convenient days and times for
everyone in your group, and we'll make it happen with a private
group class of your own. It's a great way for everyone to
get to know one another! Another option would be to have
your friends join one of our group classes. Give us a call
and we'll be happy to make some suggestions.
My Dad
feels he might benefit from a lesson or two before the
“Father/Daughter” dance. My fiancé and his mom would also like
to brush up before their dance together. Can I include our
parents in the Wedding Package?
Yes, by all means! Moms and Dads often want a refresher
course before their big moments. If you'd like to include
them in a few of your lessons, bring them along! They
might surprise you!
After
the wedding is over, can we continue to dance on a budget?
Absolutely! At Blue Moon Dancesport, you may take lessons
as seldom or as often as you please. You can pay for one
group or private lesson at a time, or you can save by purchasing
small blocks of lessons. If your schedules don't allow you
to continue with lessons for a while, we invite you to join us
at our Friday or Saturday night socials that are open to the
public. In fact, why not bring your friends along to visit
our facility with a state-of-the-art sound system and a
friendly low pressure atmosphere.
