Blue Moon Dancesport instructors are dedicated to helping children shine through the art of dance. We offer classes designed to build and improve motor skills and coordination, increase self-esteem and confidence, and develop teamwork while giving children a strong foundation in dance. 2011-2012 Dance Classes

Twinkle Toes Ballet For 3 to 4 years olds

Twinkle Toes Ballet dance classes gently introduce little girls to the wonderful world of dance through movement, music, and imagination. The instructor combines the basic skills of ballet dance with props and musical instruments to create a fun learning environment for children to thrive.

Mondays 4:45 - 5:30 pm - 5 week class starting January 9

Mondays 5:30 - 6:15 pm
Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:15 pm

Attire for Twinkle Toes Ballet: Light pink leotard (with or without attached dance skirt) and light pink dance tights.
Shoes: Pink ballet shoes (no satin slippers). Hair: Hair should be neat and brushed back into a bun.

Little Stars - Ballet and Tap Combo For 3 to 5 years olds

Little Stars dance classes introduce children to ballet and tap, focusing on developing fundamental motor skills, spatial awareness, imagination and expression through movement. Children also learn about music and rhythm through creative exercises with props and musical instruments. Emphasis is placed on fun and the development of positive self-esteem as the child enters one of his or her earliest classroom situations.

Little Stars I Ages 3 to 4
Thursdays, 5:15 - 6:00 pm
Saturdays, 9:30-10:15 am

Little Stars II Ages 4 to 5
Tuesdays, 5:15-6:00 pm
Saturdays, 9:30-10:15 am

Little Stars Attire: Light pink leotard (with or without attached dance skirt) and light pink dance tights.
Shoes: Pink ballet shoes (no satin slippers) and Black patent leather Mary-Jane style tap shoes with Velcro or snap closure (no laces).
Hair: Hair should be neat and brushed back and placed in a bun.

Jr. Hip Hop for Girls and Boys For 4 to 6 years olds

Jr. Hip Hop classes introduce boys and girls to hip hop and pop through cool, upbeat dance patterns and steps. Children will gain rhythm and coordination while learning hip hop techniques such as popping and locking and even some break dancing. Emphasis is placed on having fun while children develop early dance skills helping to increase positive self-esteem.

*Our children's Hip Hop classes use only child-friendly music and dancing
(Disney-style hip hop and pop dancing).

Wednesdays 6:00 - 6:45 pm - 5 week class starting January 11

Thursdays 6:00 - 6:45 pm
Saturdays 10:15 - 11:00 am

Attire for Hip Hop: Girls - Pink tee and black jazz pants. Boys - Solid fitted tee and black dance pants.
Shoes: White dance sneakers. Hair: Hair should be neat and brushed back into a ponytail, braid or pigtails.

Jr. Breakers For 5 to 8 years olds

Jr. Breakers is a fun and energetic hip hop / break dance class designed for boys and girls. This class will introduce students to basic footwork, freezes, and styles of break dancing, and allow students to develop their own dance combinations. This is a comfortable class great for all levels to explore the world of breakin'.

*Our children's Hip Hop classes use only child-friendly music and dancing
(Disney-style hip hop and pop dancing).

Tuesdays 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Jr. Breakers Attire: T-shirt, loose fitted dance or athletic pant, and white dance sneakers.
Hair: Hair should be neat and brushed back into a ponytail, braid or pigtails.
