Blue Moon Dancesport provides training for beginner to advanced students
and opportunities for technical growth and artistic achievement. We
offer a well-rounded curriculum designed to expose students to the
diverse world of dance. We
are dedicated to building strong, beautiful dancers from age 3 to adult
in a positive, family-oriented environment that develops
self-esteem and self-discipline.

Our facility offers two bright, large dance studios equipped with state-of-the-art sound equipment,
floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and professional
“floating” Marley dance floors to help reduce fatigue and prevent
injuries. We also offer a comfortable waiting area for parents to wait.
We are located at street level with no stairs to climb. Parking is
convenient and close.

Class Placement:
All students are placed
by the instructor according to ability, age and training. Promotion is
considered on individual achievements.
Attire:
Neatness of appearance is
required by all students to assist with discipline and standard of BMD.
A Dress Code creates equality amongst students, and makes the
dancer take the training we provide more seriously. Therefore, all
students must abide by the "Required Class Attire" for their level.

(ages 3 to 4)
Twinkle Toes
Ballet
dance
classes gently introduce little girls to the wonderful world of
dance through movement, music, and
imagination. The
instructor
combines the basic skills of
ballet dance with props and
musical instruments to create a fun learning
environment for children to thrive. |

Little Stars Ballet & Tap
(ages 3 to 5)
Little Stars dance
classes introduce children to ballet and tap, focusing on
developing fundamental motor skills, spatial awareness,
imagination and expression through movement. Children also learn
about music and rhythm through creative
exercises with props and musical instruments.
Emphasis is placed on fun and the development of
positive self-esteem as the child enters one of
his or her earliest classroom situations.

Jr. Hip Hop
(ages 4 to 6)
Jr. Hip Hop
classes introduce boys and girls to hip hop and
pop through cool, upbeat dance patterns and steps.
Children will gain rhythm and coordination
while learning hip hop techniques such as
popping and locking and even some break
dancing. Emphasis is placed on having fun
while children develop early
dance skills helping to increase positive
self-esteem.
*Our children's Hip Hop classes use only
child-friendly music and dancing (Disney-style hip hop and
pop dancing). |

Jr. Breakers
(ages 5 to 8) NEW!
Jr.
Breakers is a fun and energetic hip hop /
break dance class designed for boys and
girls. This class will introduce students to
basic footwork, freezes, and styles of break
dancing, and allow students to develop their
own dance combinations. This is a
comfortable class great for all levels to
explore the world of breakin'. |

Pre-Ballet
(ages 6 to 8)
Pre-Ballet dance
classes offer young dancers an excellent and
fun introduction to classical ballet by
teaching students basic shapes, positions,
postures, and traditions of the dance. This
program is a prelude to formal ballet
instruction and introduces children to music
and movement through a structured class that
promotes creativity and group interaction.
Recommendation: It
is strongly recommended that all students,
no matter what dance discipline they decide
to pursue, should also take ballet.

Ballet
Classical
Ballet is known as a beautiful art form and is the
foundation of all dance styles. It is considered essential to the training of any
dancer, no matter what age. With its graceful and precise movements, ballet focuses on building
strength, control and flexibility. It also improves
coordination, builds
proper posture, poise, grace and confidence. Ballet
improves a student's ability and performance in all other forms
of dance as well. With a solid ballet foundation, dancers can transfer
their skills into jazz, modern, or any other dance they might pursue.
Recommendation: It
is strongly recommended that all students, no matter what dance discipline
they decide to pursue, should take ballet. Ballet students are encouraged to
take 2 classes of ballet a week to master technique. |

Classical
Division of ballet is for students 6 years and up. Students are placed in
levels according to their age
and ability level upon enrollment. Each level
is designed to help a student master the techniques of ballet.

Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a popular dance style that is featured in music videos seen on MTV. Classes are
designed to break down stylized combinations of Street Funk, Hip-Hop,
and Pop and will teach students to dance patterns used by professional
dancers, all while listening to the latest hits of Hip Hop, Pop and
R&B. Students
will also learn technique, rhythm, coordination, and body isolations.
Levels:
Hip Hop 1: 7 to 11 years
Hip Hop 2: 12+ years

Break Dancing NEW!
Break Dancing is a form of hip hop that many
people enjoy watching, with its cool moves
and quick spins. Boys and girls will enjoy
learning classic footwork, freezes, and
styles of break dancing, and even get to
develop their

explore the world of breakin’. |

Jazz
Jazz is a showy form of dance that can be seen anywhere from Broadway
to TV, and can be danced to many styles of
music. Classes are designed to teach students various leaps and
turns, as well as a solid core of
technique in areas such as isolations, rhythm
and coordination, expression, and performance through exercises
and fun dance routines. Because proficient dancers must
utilize ballet technique, we recommend that all jazz students
enroll in a ballet technique class.
Levels: Jazz 1:

Tap
Tap is a fun style of dance that anyone can learn! It
combines the theatrical upper body movements of jazz with the upbeat,
rhythmic steps of tap. Classes provide instruction in
tap technique, terminology, clarity of sounds, tempo, and theatricality.
In class, students will also learn stylish Broadway dance
combinations that incorporate the steps learned at each lesson.
Levels:
Tap 1: 6 to 8 years

Theater Dance
Theatre Dance is an important
aspect of musical theatre which helps a show and its' characters
come to life.
With this program, students
will learn dance choreography from a variety of popular Broadway
musicals, as well as receive instruction in acting. Emphasis will be placed on performance
qualities and character development throughout the program.

program is
highly beneficial for students getting ready for school plays!
