Tuition and Policies
Blue Moon Dancesport’s Dance Season runs from September 9th, 2013 through
June 14th, 2014.
Tuition is based on the total weeks
of the dance season, not the number of classes per month.
It is conveniently divided into 10 equal monthly payments (which
includes payment on June 1st).
Although the studio will be closed for some holidays during the
dance season, these are not paid classes.
¤ These program rates do not apply to Adult or Ballroom Classes. Please visit "Adult Classes" or "Ballroom" page for pricing.
Online Registrations will be processed once payment is received. Now Register Online!
PAYMENT INFORMATION: All accounts are set up on a convenient Automatic Installment Plan. The first month’s tuition payment must be submitted with your registration. At that time, you will choose to have your Visa, Discover, or MasterCard automatically charged on the 1st of the month for remaining tuition, Oct. to June (inclusive). If a student opts to pay by check, the remaining tuition will be split into four payments due on: Nov 1st / Jan 1st / March 1st / May 1st.
ADULT CLASSES & PAYMENTS: Tuition payments for all adult dance sessions are due in full. For tuition rates, click here.
LATE PAYMENT FEE: $10. Tuition is due on the first of the month, late by the 5th.
RETURNED CHECK, CANCELLED/DECLINED CREDIT CARD FEE: $30. Acceptable in cash, cashier's check, or money order only.
Please note... There is no such thing as taking a month off. Monthly payments are for a portion of the year, not a specific month of lessons, and a space is reserved for your child in a specific class based on this schedule. Therefore, tuition payments will be charged every month regardless of whether you attend the scheduled class, or until we have received your written discontinuation notice. There are no refunds, deductions or credits for missed or discontinued classes.
If you need to cease your year's tuition obligation to Blue Moon Dancesport, submit a written notice to the office one month prior to when you plan to discontinue. Once notification has been received, your automatic payment plan will be inactivated. Accounts will continue to be charged until formal written notice is received. There are no refunds for classes discontinued in the middle of the month.
Policies - Start the season off right!
UNIFORM ATTIRE: "A dancer that looks like a dancer, dances like a dancer…"
NOTE - Street shoes should never be worn onto the dance floors. Please change into your dance shoes before going into class. Dance shoes should never be worn outside. Walking on gravel, pavement, or any other rough surface can ruin dance shoes, and in turn, can also ruin the dance floor.
HAIR: Hair must always be neat and placed in a bun for ballet, ponytail (hip hop, acro, jazz, and tap), or pinned back with no hair ornaments. No jewelry except for studs. Boys with long hair should wear a headband or hair tie.
CHANGING: Whenever possible, be dressed for dance upon arrival to the studio. If a student needs to change before or after a class, please do so in the bathroom. The waiting areas are public and we request you exercise modesty, even with the youngest of children.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR: Students are expected to conduct themselves with a sense of pride, self-discipline and a strong commitment to the studio in all areas of their performances. A responsible attitude and a respect for others are to be reflected in the students’ behavior both inside and outside the studio.
Students, whether very young or adult, should always treat their teacher and each other with respect. They should be courteous at all times and not be disruptive to the class. BMD reserves the right to bar any student from entering class or to remove any student from class due to disorderly conduct/disruptive behavior or for any other reason determined by management as unsuitable behavior.
expected and encouraged to undertake classes for the full dance
year. Please make sure to arrive a few minutes prior to class to get
ready. Warm ups are conducted the first part of the class and are
very important in order to prevent injury. Tardiness can result in
the instructor asking the student to sit out.
Keep in mind that you are paying to hold your place in a class, as
well as for choreography in the June Show. If you need to miss class
due to outside activities, you are still required to pay the full
amount for tuition whether you attend or not.
ILLNESS: If your child is sick, please keep them home until the symptoms have stopped without the need of medication, especially when it involves active infections, runny noses, sneezing, coughing, vomiting, fever, or flu-like symptoms.
DROP OFF & PICK UP: All students should enter through the front entrance. BMD is only responsible for your dancer when class is in progress. Parents of very young children are asked to remain and wait for them when the class is dismissed. Please pick your child up promptly after class at the door. Chronic lateness to pick up a student will be addressed. Parents please do not use the waiting area to hang out and socialize after your child's class has finished. If you will be picking up your dancer early from class, please inform the instructor prior to class starting.
DANCE ROOMS: Only dancers with the proper attire are permitted on the dance floor when a teacher is present. We ask that you do not walk across the front studio’s dance floor to get to and from the back rooms. Please walk along the carpeted area.
No food, chewing gum, or open drink containers are allowed in the dance rooms
WAITING AREA: While parents are welcome to wait in the waiting area, there are times where our facility cannot accommodate this due to student volume. If you have young children, please bring some quiet and clean activities to occupy them while they wait. Please do not diaper children in the studio. If child needs to change clothing, please do so in the bathrooms.
PARENTS - Please respect the studio as it is an educational and office environment.
CLASS OBSERVATION: Blue Moon Dancesport maintains a Closed Door policy throughout the year. Parent Observation weeks will be offered during the dance season to allow parents to see how their child is progressing.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS: Blue Moon Dancesport reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or combine a class with less than 6 students enrolled.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: Call the office at 610-363-8679 or visit our website www.bluemoondancesport.com. If you do not hear or see a message regarding cancelled classes, our classes will still be held. If our teachers can make it to the studio, classes will be held as usual.
RECITAL PERFORMANCES: Each year, the studio holds a Spring Performance in June. Taking part in this performance in not required. While we do encourage the opportunity to perform, a student can certainly have a wonderful, positive experience, and exposure to the art of dance just by attending regularly scheduled classes. All rehearsals and dress rehearsals prior to performance are mandatory for those who wish to perform.
RECITAL COSTUMES: Parents should let the studio office and instructors know if their child will be participating in the Recital by December 15th. The remaining costume balance is due no later than January 1st. It is the parent's/student's responsibility to get costumes altered. If a student cannot finish the dance season or attend the recital after a costume has been ordered, then the parents/student are still responsible for paying the remaining balance for the costume. After December 15th, costume payments are non-refundable.
PHOTO DAY: BMD has a professional photographer come to the studio to
take individual and group photos of students and their classmates.
This year, Photo Day is scheduled for Friday, June 6th. Photos are taken in late May or early June. As time gets closer,
your family will be given order forms with a variety of photo
packages available for purchase. Although students are not required
to purchase photos, it is nice to have everyone attend for the class
We recommend that you add Blue Moon Dancesport to your favorites list at the start of the season, so we’ll always be just a click away: www.bluemoondancesport.com.
